It's not enough to have a dream unless I'm willing to pursue it / It's not enough to know what's right, unless I'm strong enough to do it / It's not enough to join the crowd, to be acknowledged and accepted, I must stay true to my ideals, even if I'm left out and rejected / It's not enough to learn the truth, unless I also learn to live it / It's not enough to reach for love, unless I care enough to give it. ~

HAPPY BIRTHDAY READY! 5-5-05
NBK
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOVA! 5-9-05
May 7th 2005
www.clubshelter.com tonight at CLUB SHELTER, my boy JOKER throwing it down raw, 2 on 2 battles; that's crew right there! reppin' NBK! 201
last night was NOva's surprise birthday party, it was mad dope! props to Andrea and her peoples, it went very well; the venue was hot, music was dope, DJ by Gato, and food 'n drinks were hooked up, chilled with Mario, and got to break too, which was a highlight 'cuz it went down as a surprise for my part: standing by the circle as spectator as first, then Excite gets down to break and calls me out to battle, so Ongbak pushes me into the circle, I come out hyped battling Excite, handled my business, lol, and got up...AND THEN, out of nowhere GUMDROP comes in and battles for her man! like "i got this baby!" LOL, it was "quaiiiilyn'" (crazy-wild) from there when she came out hard to battle me! she blew me away 'cuz i never would have expected for her to get down in the beginning she had on high heels and tight clothes, but out of nowhere she got on her kikz and her bgirl sweater and flashed to the floor! lol, that got me soooped up so I came out and battled her too! it was over from there, lol. that was a lot of fun...

| Random thoughts...
Why would the "Tear Drop Twin Tower Memorial" be placed in Bayonne rather than at Liberty State Park close to the Hudson River? Would not it be more appropriate for it to be placed in Jersey City where everything happened so closely, right outside our windows?
I read the paper today, and one of the articles entitled "Fashion vs Passion" focused on the controversy of wearing the Ernesto "Che" Guevara shirts captured my attention. An elderly Cuban man bought a shirt from a store in Union City and burned it by lighting a newspaper on fire to protest against the fashion. He felt offended that people would regard Che as a hero when he ordered the execution of many people during post-revolution, including this man's father. But a Che supporter argued that, like Che said, there can be no revolution without hatred, without killing. Che is looked upon as a Hero to others, while some compared him and Castro to Hitler. Some vendors said that despite the controversy they would continue to sell the shirts, while a couple of vendors agreed to stop selling the shirts to accomodate those customers who are offeded by the shirts.
I think that a revolution is possible without murder and hatred. This was demonstrated by Mohandas K. Ghandi, and Dr. Martin Luther King, JR. War and killing does not have to solve the world's problems; perhaps it only prolongs and worsens it.
War is what I see
humanity suffer in reality.
Peace is what I dream
a place where life is peaceful and serene.
War is in the hands
of those too proud to understand
the value of life
versus the cost of land.
Peace is in enduring hearts
trapped in bodies so weak
in bright minds with mouths
unable to speak.©

I gotta get back to work.... oh wait, brief re-cap:
Youth AIDS Awareness DAY went very well. There were several setbacks on my part (like spraining my ankle the night before) and other obstacles and craziness, but thankfully with the help and collaboration of a group of FANTASTIC individuals (15 Together peer leaders always holding it down, and "the incredible duo", as I call them, who prefer to remain on the down low) it was revived and brought up to the fullest. PROPS 2 ALL BGIRLZ and BBOYZ who came through, REC & NBK, and those we roc w/. never cease to amaze me; man, what would I have done without 'ya....i liked that new acrobatic routine Dhalsim, Saigon, and OngBak did--maaad ill.... EOW was dope as always, reppin... big-ups to my crew members NBK for making it far in the battles at Equilibrium...propz to Katlogik and Miracles for rippin' it @ UNITED DIVAS to the last drop of energy and adrenaline... propz tp Gumdrop for her therapeutic skillz, helping my ankle get back in shape, and for reppin' at the Y/AIDS/day event...a lot of effort and sacrifice took place to put it together and make it happen... can't be thankful enough...right now i'm still soo exhausted coming back to work and to school....till next time, peace.... 1

| Haven't been here in a while so here it goes...
Thursday night was nice at the Waterbug poetry spot open mic night...propz to Dhalsim on his Waterbug debut! dope. I read my short piece on my thoughts about war (i'll post it up next time)... It was hot mah bgirlz Katlogik 'n Dezire came through with their peoples, and finally Texas decided to show up. I ate a bangin' lasagna this lady cooked for me at Helen's Pizza b4 the show...Middlepoet as always did his thang, and DJ LAdyJay rocked the beats...Bryan Scott was the feature...i smelled like beer and cigarettes when i got home (which I hate) but for the sake of poetry it was well worth it...

And before hitting up the poetry spot I chilled with Gumdrop at the mall and then came Saigon, and then met up with Andrea and Nova, and then Excite, lol. When everyone else bounced, I chilled with Andrea. I bought 2 pairs of cute earrings from Charlotte Russe, but I just shoved 'em in my bag after paying, and later on I just couldn't find them, hopefully they'll turn up sometime...
last weekend I went with my sister and my friends to Bergenline... we shopped at this 49 cents store, lol, it was cool, my sis bought mad stuff for $4!!! then we hit the record stores...at Ritmo Latino I bought an Aventura CD, unplugged from their concert... it's not the latest one, but they are still hot to me... we went window shoppin' with Mike and Orlando ... I ended up buying bright orange Chinese slippers for this ethnic Asian costume I'll be wearing for an art class who'll be doing figure paintings of me for two weeks; just a cool Spring break job...anyways, afterwards we went to eat at this place called La Pupusas Loca... we looked mad silly taking pics of food, hhmm, yummy, really good food...haven't been there for the longest...oh, and I drove too, which was cool (Mazda 4 X 4) while listening to my bachata beats...I kinda scared my sister and my friends a bit for driving just a tad bit over the limit, but we got home alright (thank God)...nah, I'm a good driver...over all it was fun...i really like eating various ethnic foods every now and then besides Filipino foods... well it was all cool, but as always, very short Spring break... my longest sleep during this break is 18 hours straight, beat that!

the soup was more bangin' than it looks, and so was las pupusas, and top that off with mago shake, yum... lol, afterwards Orlando, my sister's friend posing with his new his buddy ..... okay...movin' on..................
MARCH IS WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH....ERA (Equal Rights Amendment) all the way!!! The fight is not over, but I am and will forever be thankful to all the strong women in our history like Alice Paul, Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Margaret Thatcher, and all the NOW members and supporters who have devoted so much of their life so that I can have the freedom to be whatever I choose to be as a woman. SO PROPZ to ALL WOMEN who keep shining their light for all women for generations to come. To all the women out there, stay strong, keep your head up, and be ALL that you can BE! Never let anything or anyone tell you that you can't be something or do something because you are a female. And please, whether you are male or female, feel free to learn more about Women's History and our struggles for equal rights. peace!!!! 1 LOVE
"Let us be patient with one another, And even patient with ourselves. We have a long, long way to go. So let us hasten along the road, The road of human tenderness and generosity. Groping, we may find one another's hands in the dark. "Emily Greene Balch (1867-1961), Nobel Peace Prize Winner in 1946
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world, indeed it's the only thing that ever does." - [ Margaret Mead - anthropologist ]

Who knows what women can be when they are finally free to become themselves? Who knows what women's intelligence will contribute when it can be nourished without denying love? ... The time is at hand when the voices of the feminine mystique can no longer drown out the inner voice that is driving women to become complete. - [ Betty Friedan - author and co-founder of NOW ] http://erights4all.com/now/winterparknow/w-wisdom.htm
Take the blinders from your vision, take the padding from your ears, and confess you've heard me crying, and admit you've seen my tears. Hear the tempo so compelling, hear the blood throb in my veins. Yes, my drums are beating nightly, and the rhythms never change. Equality, and I will be free. Equality, and I will be free. - [ Maya Angelou - poet and author, excerpt from "Equality" ]
